Trace fossil. Dinosaur. Made by the rear foot (pes) of a sauropod, such as Cetiosaurus, which penetrated unconsolidated sands, mud and carbonaceous sediments of a near-coast river floodplain. The deep void was filled with sand, to form a cast, about 60cm wide. Grooves are visible, made by the toes, skin and short claws. Note the bioturbation of the layers.
