The Rotunda Geology Group (RGG)

Welcome to the Rotunda Geology Group, Scarborough. We support the Rotunda Museum and actively promote the interests of Geology in North and East Yorkshire.

Latest News:
Our next meeting will be the AGM on Thursday 5th February 2026; at 7pm for 7:30pm. As usual, the event will be held at the Conference Room, Woodend Gallery and Studios, Scarborough. Members are invited to bring along fossils, rocks, or other materials of geological interest, including photographs (for which we could easily set up the projector).
The Conference Room at Woodend Gallery can be found using postcode YO11 2PW or the What3Words location: ///spider.tennis.roses. Parking is available on The Crescent, free after 6pm. At Woodend, as you approach the building, aim for the modern extension, on the right. The entrance to the Conference Room, a glass fire door, also to the right, is at first hidden from view. The door is open from 7pm. Members free; Visitors £3.
And for your diaries, the second meeting in 2026 will be held on Thursday 5th March 2026, when Dan Normandale will present a talk – Draining the North Sea: the Yorkshire Coast’s hidden seabed.
