Latest News:
A Visit to the Scalby Formation.
Our first summer RGG Field Trip will take place from Burnistan Bay Car Park on Saturday 6th June, 12.40 for 1.00 pm. We shall be walking part of the Scalby Formation, and RGG Members and their Friends are invited. The purpose is to visit continuous exposures of the Jurassic Period fossilised meander belt in the Long Nab Members of the Scalby Formation and understand the wider context offshore. We shall also explore the cliff section and learn more about the geology of the Burniston dinosaur footprint bed and that environment.
To learn more about the trip, please email the Programme Secretary for details: programme@scarboroughrgg.uk
