Summer Field Trips and Fossil Handling
Join us on a joint RGG and Hull Geological Society trip to the Humber Bridge Country Park and Hessle foreshore on Saturday 18th July 2026 at 10.30am. We will be exploring the disused quarries of Little Switzerland to see the Cretaceous Period Chalk of the Turonian Age (93.9 to 89.8 million years ago; T.lata biozone) in this designated RIGS and Local Nature Reserve.Additionally, we will look for glacial erratics on the Humber estuary foreshore and discuss how the Last Glacial Period affected what is now the Humber estuary. Booking is essential, please email programme@scarboroughrgg.uk for more details.
