Fossil Handling Event at the Rotunda Museum
Join us on Tuesday, 17th February, during Half Term, for one of our traditional Fossil Handling Events at the Rotunda Museum. This event offers a unique opportunity for people of all ages to meet local geology experts. Explore a fascinating collection of fossil samples ranging from pre-Jurassic to post-Jurassic periods.
Discover more about the incredible opportunities presented by the North Yorkshire coastline and beyond, through our engaging hands-on exhibition. The table exhibition will be open from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm. We look forward to welcoming you and your friends!
Our next meeting before Easter at the Woodend Conference Room will be held on the 5th March 2026. A fascinating talk will be presented by Dan Normandale. He will discuss — Draining the North Sea: the Yorkshire Coast’s Hidden Seabed.
The Conference Room at Woodend Gallery can be found using postcode YO11 2PW or the What3Words location: ///spider.tennis.roses. Parking is available on The Crescent, free after 6pm. At Woodend, as you approach the building, aim for the modern extension, on the right. The entrance to the Conference Room, a glass fire door, also to the right, is at first hidden from view. The door is open from 7pm. Members free; Visitors £3.
